Overview:
Unify are thrilled to be recruiting for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join a well established Plant Hire Construction company based from North Somerset, Weston- Super-Mare.
As a Class 1 HGV Driver you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of heavy plant and construction equipment across various UK locations.
This position involves regular overnight stays, so flexibility and a commitment to travel are essential.
What do I need?
1. A valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record
2. CPC qualification and a valid Tachograph card
3. The right to work in the UK
4. Previous experience transporting heavy plant machinery (highly desirable)
5. A good understanding of loading and securing plant/construction equipment
6. Solid knowledge of driver hours and tachograph regulations
Responsibilities:
7. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly to ensure continued compliance
8. Operate a Class 1 HGV to transport heavy machinery and equipment safely between various locations
9. Follow all health and safety procedures when loading, unloading, and delivering equipment
10. Communicate effectively with the transport office, clients, and site staff regarding any delivery or routing issues
11. Manage the collection and drop-off of equipment, completing all relevant records using a tablet-based system
12. Secure all loads safely and in accordance with best practices for plant and construction equipment
13. Maintain accurate logs, timesheets, and delivery documentation
14. Support the wider operations and logistics team with additional duties as required
15. Adhere to all legal requirements and company standards concerning road safety, weight limits, and driver hours
