Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) – Adult Acute Inpatient Team

Overview
This specialist Band 6 role provides a wide range of opportunities for an SLT who wants to broaden their skill set, working with a highly varied caseload that includes general & elderly medicine, neurology, respiratory and palliative care.
We operate a well‑established Videofluoroscopy service and an inpatient FEES service, offering the potential to play a pivotal role in instrumental swallow assessment.
Responsibilities
* Act as an active member of the multidisciplinary team, contributing to service development, training and audit.
* Supervise and provide mentorship to junior colleagues, including Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists, assistants and SLT students.
* Manage an independent caseload, assessing and treating patients with a wide range of communication and swallowing difficulties.
* Participate in service improvement projects and audits, and contribute ideas for service development.
* Attend face‑to‑face interviews for the position (no remote option).
Qualifications
* Band 6 level Speech and Language Therapist.
* Confidence in managing an independent caseload and delivering assessments and interventions for communication and swallowing issues.
* Experience in Videofluoroscopy or FEES is desirable, but not essential.
* Experience in leading service improvement projects is valued.
