SupervisorLocation: Herefordshire, HR6 8EASalary: £34,520 - £43,151 per annumHours: 46.5 hours per week, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday to MondayAre you ready to take on a pivotal leadership role in waste management? Severn Waste Services is seeking a dedicated Supervisor to join our team in Leominster.As a Site Supervisor, you'll be instrumental in supporting the Area Manager, safely overseeing and co-ordinating all operational activities across our contract area. Your core mission will be to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery, always upholding our high standards for safety, compliance, and team performance.This full-time position comes with fantastic support.

Here's what you can expect:- Competitive salary- 33 days' annual leave (for full-time employees, inclusive of Bank Holidays)- Pension scheme- Life insurance- On-the-job training and progression opportunities- Recognition scheme- Refer a friend scheme- Flexible benefits, including high street savings, cycle-to-work scheme, and holiday purchase (where applicable)- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing PlatformWhat You'll Be DoingIn this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for:- Supervising and supporting site staff, including operatives, drivers, and team leaders.- Ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company policies.- Monitoring vehicle checks and coordinating repairs with the maintenance team.- Managing site inspections and ensuring equipment safety.- Enforcing safe working practices for staff, visitors, and subcontractors.- Maintaining operational efficiency, managing work schedules, and ensuring adequate personnel cover.- Monitoring staff performance and providing coaching or corrective action as needed.- Contributing to training and skills development across the team.- Reporting on staffing levels, absences, and performance issues to management.- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and cost-effective operations.What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a proactive and experienced individual who brings:- Strong leadership: Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills.- Tech-savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.- Continuous learner: Willingness to engage with our in-house Competency Management System (CMS) for ongoing development.- Education: Ideally educated to A-level or equivalent; a management qualification is a bonus.- Problem-solver: Possesses strong problem-solving and organisational skills.- Valuable addition: An HGV licence would be beneficial, but it's not essential.About Severn Waste ServicesSevern Waste Services is the public face of municipal waste management in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
