About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Access Network Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join a dynamic team supporting a critical telecom project in Newbury. This is an onsite contract role where you will play a key role in network optimization, performance management, and troubleshooting across 2G/3G/4G/VoLTE/5G technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead radio optimization processes, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and improvement recommendations.
* Manage network performance data, anomaly detection, and reporting using tools like Atoll, MapInfo, and OSS.
* Conduct drive test analysis, coverage mapping, and EMF compliance reporting.
* Oversee site shutdown analysis, database consistency checks, and special project rollouts.
* Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards.
* Provide expert insights on Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei equipment, parameters, and features.
* Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 10+ years of RAN engineering experience with deep expertise in 4G, VoLTE, and 5G (SA/NSA).
* Proficiency in radio site planning, link budget, and logical configuration (power, tilt, bands, etc.).
* Strong analytical skills with expertise in KPI formulas, performance tools, and Business Intelligence dashboards.
* Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and client management skills.
* Must be available to work onsite in Newbury daily.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Vendor certifications (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei).
* Experience with European/US mobile operators in planning, optimization, and RCA.
* Adaptability, team spirit, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
