3-month contract with a local authority Family Support Worker / Early Help Practitioner Summary The Family Support Worker / Early Help Practitioner is a vital role within a local authority, offered on a 3-month contract. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, child-focused early help interventions to children, young people, and families. The primary aim is to provide timely and tailored support to prevent the need for escalation to statutory services. Responsibilities Complete comprehensive whole-family assessments using the organisation’s assessment and planning framework. Develop high-quality SMART plans in collaboration with children, young people, and families. Identify strengths, needs, risks, and desired outcomes for each family. Ensure the child’s voice and best interests remain central to all planning and decision-making. Essential Experience Experience providing support to children, young people, and families with complex or emerging needs. Experience conducting assessments and delivering targeted family interventions. Experience coordinating multi-agency support and partnership working. Experience keeping accurate case records and working within safeguarding frameworks. Essential Qualifications Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Early Years, Social Care, Youth Work, Education, Health, or a related field. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
