Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration., The Care Home Kitchen Assistant plays a crucial and supportive role in the care home's catering service, ensuring residents receive nutritious and culturally appropriate meals in a clean and safe environment. This position involves assisting the Cook with food preparation, maintaining high standards of kitchen cleanliness, and deputizing for the Assistant Cook when necessary. The successful candidate will be a committed team player, ensuring all duties are performed with consideration for the health, religious, and cultural needs of the Service Users. This role operates within a 7-day service framework, with shifts between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.,
* Assist the Cook with all aspects of daily kitchen operations and food service delivery.
* Ensure Service Users' Health, Religious, and Cultural needs are given full consideration during food preparation and serving.
* Maintain an exceptionally high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including food storage, preparation surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
* Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly after use.
* Adhere strictly to all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and procedures.
* Report any equipment malfunctions, health and safety hazards, or stock deficiencies to the appropriate person promptly.
A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one promptly upon starting the role).
* Previous experience working in a catering, kitchen, or food service environment is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of basic food hygiene and safety practices.
