Maintenance Technician Electrical

This Electrical role is based at Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield but covers other health centres in the Wakefield and surrounding areas that sit under the trust footprint.
The role involves maintaining all electrical-related jobs internally and externally on the buildings.
The work is varied and changes daily based on service needs and prioritization of works.
Estates trust vehicles are used for traveling around the trust's footprint, and the successful candidate's skillset may sometimes be needed at properties in Barnsley, including Kendray Hospital, which has inpatient mental health units, and Cheswold Park Hospital, a medium to low secure unit in Doncaster.
This is an exciting role for the right candidate who enjoys a challenge in a demanding environment.
The successful candidate will be part of a small team of Electricians working alongside and supporting other trades and maintenance assistants in daily duties.
Reactive works and statutory PPM are the main responsibilities of this position.

Main duties of the job
* Maintain all aspects of electrical equipment to a high standard, respecting your surroundings.
* Carry out repairs and PPM daily to ensure building safety and compliance with HTMs and relevant British standards.
* Work from drawings provided and adapt as necessary to resolve issues.

* Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs and out-of-hours safety measures.
* Order stock as needed.
* Manage your workload using a handheld device, understanding SLA priorities.
* Diagnose and solve electrical problems in complex systems.
* Work in accordance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Note: This role currently meets the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration for sponsorship eligibility. Sponsorship is contingent upon the salary meeting the minimum threshold of £34,300.

Job responsibilities
This job description outlines the main duties. The postholder may be required to undertake other duties as appropriate and as directed.
The content will be reviewed with the postholder as needed and in line with service developments.
The postholder will be the specialist lead in their area of expertise, responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing equipment and properties belonging to the Trust or other organizations as directed.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures for in-house and contracted staff by providing training and technical support. Maintain the Trust in accordance with statutory and government guidelines (e.g., HTMs, HBNs).
The lead specialist should have knowledge of:
* Electrical distribution systems
* Generator and Battery Systems
* BMS Systems
* Ventilation Systems
* Heating and Plumbing Systems
* Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
* Confined Spaces Regulations 1997
* HTM 06-02 (Electrical Low Voltage Systems)
* Electrical installation testing and inspection
* Relevant codes of practice and standards
Perform service, testing, diagnosis, repair, and calibration of mechanical and electrical installations and equipment. Handle new situations and pass on knowledge to others. Solve technical problems during duties. Supervise facilities support workers and evaluate their work. Assemble, install, and commission new work using relevant tools and equipment.

* Recognized Apprenticeship (NVQ3 or equivalent)
* City & Guilds 2382 BS7671 18th Edition
* City & Guilds 2377-22/32 PAT Testing
* City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection and Testing
* AM2 Electro-technical Occupational Competence
* HNC or equivalent in relevant subjects or additional multi-trade qualifications
* HND/NVQ4
Experience
* Experience of costing, implementing, and managing small schemes within budget
* Substantial experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of NHS/Estates Services
