What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will work with young people and colleagues to deliver activities at the youth club. You should be highly motivated, organized, and capable of developing fun and safe activities involving young people at all levels. No experience is required initially; however, completion of the relevant youth work qualification within two years is necessary. Registration with the Education Workforce Council will be required upon qualification.
Main duties include:
* Delivering projects and activities aligned with Citizenship, Art, Sport, Health, and Welsh, including DoE and youth forums.
* Supporting young people in designing, delivering, and evaluating services and activities.
* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety policies.
* Reporting concerns regarding grievances, incidents, accidents, or safeguarding issues.
* Completing all youth club paperwork per local authority procedures.
* Attending three pre-term meetings annually.
* Keeping knowledge current through training, including three per term.
* Delivering projects that promote community cohesion and broaden horizons.
* Participating in annual Employment Development Reviews and identifying training needs.
Experience required:
Working with young people aged 11 to 24 in various settings.
Ideally, you will have:
* Knowledge of the youth work curriculum statement for Wales.
* The relevant national youth work qualification for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
* Registration with the EWC before employment begins; this is mandatory.
Once qualified, registration with the EWC remains a requirement.
