An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 senior sexual health nurse to join the team at Florey Clinic. We also welcome applications from Band 5 nurses with an interest in sexual health and contraception. Support and training will be provided to suitable applicants to achieve their Band 6 role.
The Florey Clinic provides an integrated service to Reading, Wokingham, and West Berkshire. The Level 3 service is fast-paced, offering a fantastic opportunity to develop within a supportive and friendly environment.

The post holder works as a skilled practitioner responsible for delivering patient-focused care programs that address the complex health and wellbeing needs of clients requiring contraceptive and sexual health services. At this level, the post-holder exercises clinical judgment and decision-making regarding patient needs and long-term goals. They ensure the smooth running of the department in the absence of the Departmental Sister/Charge Nurse, work autonomously in outreach settings, and provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder is responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing nursing care plans, and maintaining associated records for patients in the clinical area.
They work effectively as part of a team, assisting in managing and organizing work as required. The post holder demonstrates effective communication skills, acts as a role model for good practice, and supports and develops students and junior colleagues as needed.

Education/Qualification/Training
* NMC Registered Nurse or Midwife
* Accredited course in GU medicine or completion of internal development documentation
* Completed FSRH diploma or accredited university equivalent
Experience
* Recent clinical experience in the specialty area
* Experience in mentoring, facilitation, teaching, assessing, coaching
* Leadership experience
* Experience with Change Management
Other
* Understanding of HR Policies and Procedures
* Knowledge of COSHH procedures and Risk Management
* Good IT Skills
