Contract DevOps Engineer | Up to £325 Outside IR35 | 3 months (rolling) | Remote, UK
A leading consultancy and software company working on large-scale optimisation projects in the water resources and infrastructure space is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help deliver a key initial 3-month project. This role will focus on building a scalable system for deploying compute-intensive optimisation jobs on a cluster, with automated scheduling, data storage, and API integration.
About the Project
The goal is to create a system that:
* Submits optimisation jobs via an existing API.
* Automatically deploys them on a compute cluster with the requested cores.
* Stores outputs in a big data database for future analysis.
Required Skills:
* Strong experience with Slurm or similar job schedulers.
* Expertise in Docker (Kubernetes experience a plus).
* Big data database design (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Hadoop/S3).
* Proficiency in Python for API integration.
* Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
* Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
