Overview
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Revenue Controller with a leading professional services firm based in Edinburgh. This position plays a key role in supporting the objectives of the Client & Matter Management team by delivering a high-quality and efficient service to internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all client and matter onboarding procedures are conducted in full compliance with established risk controls. Operating within the broader finance function, the role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to meet strict deadlines, and a strong commitment to achieving results in a high-pressure environment.
What you’ll do
* Engage regularly with Partners and Practice Area colleagues across offices
* Support efforts to reduce lock-up and improve financial performance
* Monitor Billing Pledges and Accounts Receivable Forecasts
* Ensure financial deadlines are met within the Practice Area
* Recommend process improvements
* Communicate professionally and confidently
* Make sound, pragmatic decisions with commercial awareness
* Understand WIP, Billing, AR, and Client balances in a legal context
* Apply knowledge of VAT and relevant legal accounting rules (Law Society of Scotland & SRA)
* Prepare relevant management information (MI)
* Assist in training and development of Working Capital and Practice Area colleagues
What you’ll need
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferable
* Strong legal working capital knowledge is essential as you will oversee the debt collections alongside the billing and credit control managers under the direction of the Head of Working Capital Management
* You will have the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to help drive forward financial performance results whilst offering first class billing and credit control support to partners and colleagues
* You will be comfortable making decisions as well as being robust in challenging situations
* You will be expected to have knowledge of the legal financial requirements and understand the expectation to deliver information in a clear and concise manner as well as being able to juggle priorities and be able to work well under pressure and be committed to getting the job done
* Be aware of the Firms information security policies, and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference at all times
