As Senior Regulatory Data Specialist, you'll be central to ensuring abstraction activities are sustainably managed and compliant with regulatory requirements, helping us meet increasing environmental expectations from regulators, stakeholders, and the communities we serve. About The Role This role is will suit someone who is naturally detail-oriented, enjoys interrogating data, and is comfortable taking ownership of regulatory compliance under scrutiny. We will support development in abstraction licensing where candidates bring strong data and analytical experience. Reporting to the Abstraction Compliance and Assurance Manager, the Senior Regulatory Data Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of abstraction licences across the Anglian Water region. You will lead on compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, licence applications, and financial oversight, ensuring robust processes are in place and no regulatory commitments are missed. This is a business critical role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the confidence to interpret complex regulations and communicate technical information clearly across the business. Key Responsibilities Lead abstraction licence compliance monitoring, including daily checks and compliance investigations. You will play a key role in ensuring the business has robust, defensible evidence for compliance decisions. Ensure accuracy and integrity of all abstraction licence and monitoring datasets. You'll influence how abstraction compliance is monitored and improved across the region. Produce high-quality regulatory submissions, including abstraction returns and self-reporting Become the go-to technical expert on abstraction licensing and compliance, working closely with operational teams, analysts, and regulator Manage abstraction licence applications, renewals, variations, transfers, and revocations Oversee abstraction licence financials, including annual fees, charges, and derogation payments Support enhanced modelling and analysis for high-risk ("hot") licence reviews Maintain accurate corporate records of all licence conditions and changes Work collaboratively with external bodies, including the Environment Agency and technical consultants Required Skills And Experience Strong experience working with large datasets, data analysis, and reporting Confidence interpreting regulatory, legal, and licence documentation Experience managing regulatory submissions and compliance processes (though we will support development in abstraction licensing where candidates bring strong data and analytical experience).
