The role - Education and Training - SEN Teaching Assistant - Essex As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups throughout the school day in Essex Assisting the class teacher with delivering tailored lessons and activities Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation Helping to manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs Supporting pupils during transitions, breaktimes, and structured activities Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in learning within education and training Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and therapists to follow individual support plans Ensuring a safe, calm, and supportive classroom environment at all timesThe ideal candidate - SEN Teaching Assistant - Essex Has experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential) Is patient, resilient, and nurturing within Essex Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils Works well as part of a team and follows guidance confidently Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeingThis is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a special school setting, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and personally
