Mechanical Shift Engineer – £51,000 | Stratford
Location: Stratford
Salary: £43,000 + £8600 Shift allowance
Hours: 4 on, 4 off, rotating 06:00–18:00 and 18:00–06:00
We are working with a prestigious client who is seeking a skilled Mechanical Shift Engineer to oversee electrical PPMs, reactive maintenance, and general building services. Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks
2. Fire alarm testing and sprinkler testing
3. Pumps – PPMs or strip downs (replacing seals, bearings, valves, overhauls)
4. Motors – PPMs (re-winds, overhauls)
5. Handle general building maintenance tasks such as toilets, drainage, tiling, and sinks when required
6. Demonstrate knowledge of AHUs, FCUs, UPS, Generators, LV systems, and fault finding
7. Manage BMS (Building Management System) including Head End Controls
8. Maintain and repair HVAC plant, VAV, VRV systems, and water treatment systems
Requirements:
9. City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
10. Ideally, 3 years of experience in building services maintenance
11. Strong building services knowledge and ability to fault-find on key systems
12. Desire to succeed and learn within the role
