Overview
An exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced registered mental health nurse to join the nursing ward management team within Ward 4, Queen Margaret Hospital. Ward 4 is an 18 bedded mixed sex ward providing ongoing assessment to older adults who have organic mental illness. Applications are invited from experienced RMNs who will share NHS values and be committed to providing a high standard of person-centred clinical care, as well as developing skills in leading and managing with support of the Senior Charge Nurse.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate leadership skills with significant experience of working within adult inpatient mental health services.
* Lead and support team members and associated professionals to provide the best care to service users and optimise teamwork within the ward.
* Contribute to a high standard of person-centred clinical care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide clinical supervision and participate in the delivery of induction and educational development.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified RMN with registration and relevant post-registration experience in adult mental health in-patient services.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent level of skill gained through experience.
* Self-motivated and committed to person-centred care, professional development and quality improvement.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead on ward-level initiatives.
Additional Requirements
* Must be willing to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
* Legal right to work in the United Kingdom; entitlement to work will be checked as part of pre-employment checks. Routes include various visa types and UK settled/pre-settled status. See GOV.UK for details.
* Pre-employment checks will be conducted by NHS Scotland Boards to confirm entitlement to work in the UK.
