Prospero Teaching are looking for strong and ambitious English & Maths graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in Primary and Secondary schools across Oldham and Tameside. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic graduates with an interest in a career in Teaching who may have some previous experience in tutoring, although this is not essential.
The role is more specifically working with groups of children with varying learning ability and who may have special educational needs, who need additional support in English and Maths. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to pursue a career in teaching to support a PGCE application in the future.
Position Details:
1. Location -Oldham & Tameside
2. Position – Teaching Assistant
3. Type of work – 1:1 work with children and small group work
4. Contract or position start date – ASAP
5. Duration / Likely Duration – Ongoing supply
6. Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary
7. Full time/part time – Full time
8. Rate of pay – Minimum rate £70
9. Hours – 8:30 am – : Mon – Fri (term time only)
Responsibilities:
10. Working with and providing support to children with SEN (Special Educational Needs)
11. Experience of supporting pupils
12. The willingness to provide an environment in which pupils can reach their full potential
13. The ability to build rapports with the children, supporting their social and behavioural needs, and acting as a mentor
Role Requirements:
14. Psychology (BA Hons) degree
15. DBS (clean and relevant) – Can be obtained through Prospero Teaching
16. Safeguarding certificate
17. A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work
18. Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships
Desirable:
19. Previous experience working in primary schools.
20. Good knowledge of different forms of SEN.
