*About Woodlanders *Woodlanders Pre-School provides early years care and education for children aged 9months - 5years in Ashburton and the surrounding areas.We are an independent registered charity (number 1176342), rooted in the community and run by a team of dedicated staff who are passionate about early years education and supporting the needs of local families. Woodlanders has provided high quality care and education for over 25 years.In addition to pre-school care and education, Woodlanders provides wrap-around care and holiday clubs for our registered children, parent and toddler groups and specialised sessions such as Forest School, French and Yoga.*The role*37 hours a week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 08.00-17.30 term time with additional hours required during holiday club periods.You will assist the Room Leaders and Head of Woodlanders in ensuring a safe and nurturing setting where children can develop their confidence and social skills. Your role includes providing engaging and creative learning experiences for the children, as well as stepping in for the Room Leader when needed. Leading a small team with confidence is essential.You will need extensive experience working with children in an early learning setting. Have experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and other relevant learning programmes, including contributing to Educational Plans. It is important to have experience as a key worker with a group of children and to function well as part of a team. Familiarity with collaborating with other agencies and professionals is essential, along with knowledge of the external support available to assist children and their families and how to access these services. Additionally, experience in planning learning outcomes for large groups of children is desirable.*What we are looking for*The successful candidate will be:* Caring, welcoming, playful and friendly, with a genuine love and enjoyment of working with young children* Inspiring and guiding our team to deliver enriching early years education with enthusiasm and dedication* Good team working skills* Good time management skills* Have a love of sharing stories* Happy to work outdoors in all weathers* Experience using online nursery software* A clear understanding of child development and outstanding childcare practices* A strong understanding of safeguarding* A strong understanding of and commitment to inclusion for diversity* Ability to work with parents/carers, in a warm, sensitive manner.* Ability to communicate at all levels* Ability to work in a flexible manner* An understanding commitment to equal opportunities* A willingness and ability to undertake professional development as appropriate* Knowledgeable regarding Safeguarding, EYFS and OFSTED requirements.* OFSTED recognised Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years (Essential)* Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)* Experience of working within the Early Years environment (Desirable)* Experience of working with SEND children (Desirable)Visits to Woodlanders are warmly welcomed.
