A client within the Public Sector based in Lincolnshire is currently recruiting for a Building Control Team Leader to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide effective operational leadership, management and motivation to the council’s Building Control service, ensuring interventions are compliant, efficient and high quality.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Leading, managing and developing the Building Control team, including direct line management responsibility
Overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), internal audits and implementing changes for compliance
Managing a caseload of complex building regulation applications and determining compliance
Advising on Building Regulations, policies and legislation including Building Safety Act 2022 requirements
Representing the service with the Building Safety Regulator, LABC, external partners and at corporate level
Progressing enforcement cases and managing dangerous structures, including out-of-hours call-out responsibilities
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require the following:
Registration with the Building Safety Regulator to Class 2 (A–F) with ability to work towards Class 3 and 4 (Technical Manager)
Full professional membership of MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB with appropriate Building Technology qualification
Demonstrable ability to manage high-risk and major projects, including casework on complex applicationsThe below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Experience of LABC Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
Strong budget management skills, including monitoring and reporting
Experience as an expert witness in Building Control related enforcementThe client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £90 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £75 per hour PAYE).
