Service Support Officer

Contract Type: Fixed Term - Grant Funded until 31/07/2026
Hours: 15 hours per week (3 days a week)
Location of post: Port Talbot Civic Centre
We are currently looking for a Service Support Officer to join Team NPT
The successful candidate will support the Financial Officer by undertaking financial and administrative duties and to assist Senior Management in the effective and efficient delivery of the Catering and Cleaning Services in Primary and Special Schools.
The post will involve working in a busy environment, and will also include responsible for the Catering Oracle food ordering system, provide an Exchequer function for payment of the Council's Creditors, processing of invoices in accordance with Financial Regulations, support the Finance Officer and Service Managers with any aspect of data input to ensure accurate recording and assist in the day to day management of services.
Experience will be needed in administrative or financial background and data input using spreadsheets. Also working within a team environment and to high standards.
The successful candidate must be proficient in the use of computer systems, have excellent communication skills, have the ability to organise and prioritise workload in a busy working environment to meet deadlines.
Applicants should have good knowledge of Local Government finance systems and 4 GCSE's grade A to C (or equivalent) to include English and Maths.
