The Stores Manager is a vital role, responsible for overseeing and optimising all aspects of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished good inventory within a manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do
Inventory & Materials Management
* Manage inventory levels, storage, and waste reduction
* Optimise warehouse layout for space and workflow efficiency
* Maintain inventory control through the Sage200/Sicon system
* Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods
Production Support & Planning
* Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality teams to meet delivery targets
* Assist with production scheduling based on forecasts and resources
* Support new product introductions by ensuring materials and processes are in place
Operations & Process Improvement
* Oversee daily stores operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
* Implement and maintain a robust process led approach for Stores team to ensure complete, accurate and timely recording of goods in/out on MRP system. Monitor key performance metrics and analyse data to identify improvement opportunities
* Conduct root cause analysis to resolve operational issues
Team Leadership
* Lead and develop the stores team: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
* Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
* Handle staff concerns and conduct regular reviews
Reporting & Compliance
* Prepare reports on inventory, budgets, and performance for senior management
* Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
* Communicate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and customers
What You Will Bring
* 1–3 years' experience in a similar role within a metalworking, engineering, or manufacturing environment
* Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (Sage 200/Sicon), in a leadership capacity
* Strong understanding of production processes, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and kitting lists
* Experience leading teams in a technical or stores environment
* Solid planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
* Completion of secondary education
* Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
* Proactive, professional attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement and quality
Desirable
* Familiarity with standards such as EN, ISO 3834, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
* Experience working to Defence (AQAP, MIL-STD), Rail (RIS), or Automotive (IATF) standards
