Role Overview
Title: Locality Manager
Location: DL Building, 7 Scott Street, Motherwell, ML1 1PM
Working hours: Monday–Sunday, 8:00am–8:00pm (variable schedule)
Salary band: £34,974 – £46,187 (starting at lower band, progression on review)
Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Head of Service Delivery.
* Manage a team of coordinators and volunteers who deliver support to victims and witnesses at local court and community‑based services.
* Ensure that VSS’s organisational objectives are implemented at the local level and support service users in the locality to access the assistance they need.
* Participate in business planning to promote awareness of available services within the local area.
* Oversee people management for staff in the area, including support, development, and performance management.
* Motivate team members, build trust, and drive performance to meet service‑user needs.
* Gather, analyse, and present data to inform decisions and improve service delivery.
* Advocate for fairness and inclusion, challenge discrimination, bias, and stereotyping where encountered.
* Maintain a solid understanding of the voluntary and charity sector and adapt leadership practices accordingly.
* Work flexible hours and travel as required to fulfil local responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant experience in a similar leadership role within the voluntary or charity sector.
* Strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
* Proficiency in data gathering, analysis, and presentation of insights.
* Demonstrated belief in fairness, inclusion, and the ability to challenge discrimination.
* Capability to work flexibly and travel when necessary.
