Apply for funding for mid-range equipment for research across MRC’s scientific areas.
You must be employed at a UK research organisation eligible for MRC funding.
Research organisations may only submit one application (either a new or re-submission) to this UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding opportunity, unless otherwise notified by MRC.
You can request a contribution of between £100,000 to £800,000. MRC will fund up to 100% of the full economic cost. The total item cost may be higher, with the remainder met by institutional or partner contributions. Awards will be made for spending in 2025 to 2026 financial year.

Who is eligible to apply
To be eligible to apply for this UKRI funding opportunity you must be a researcher or research technical professional employed by an .
Research organisations may only put forward one application to this funding opportunity for this round, unless their research office has been otherwise notified by MRC. We would encourage organisations to discuss and prioritise their submissions as soon as possible. Potential applicants are advised to contact their research office at the earliest opportunity.
You are only permitted to be project lead on one application per round, however, you can still be involved in an application submitted to the same round when you are involved as project co-lead. You should also note that as such, applications will be in direct competition, therefore this is not recommended unless the applications are in very different scientific areas.

Applicants based within the MRC Unit The Gambia or MRC and UVRI Uganda Research Unit at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine are eligible to apply as project lead.

* you are based at an international research organisation (exceptions are MRC Units ‘The Gambia’ and Uganda’
* you are looking to be project lead on more than one application (unless prior agreement has been received from MRC)
* your application is not the only application being submitted by your research organisation (unless otherwise notified by MRC)
