This includes ensuring all staff are aware of each child’s care plan and their responsibilities in implementing it. You’ll attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to contribute information and support positive outcomes for young people. The role requires direct work with young people, serving as an appropriate role model, maintaining accurate written records, chairing children’s meetings, and facilitating consultations with them. You’ll act as an appropriate adult during PACE interviews, develop routines collaboratively with young people and staff, uphold standards of cleanliness and order within the Home, create staff rotas aligned with children's needs, and ensure proper reporting and recording systems are in place to meet National Minimum Standards. You'll participate in team meetings, encourage good communication and staff development, ensure policy compliance, and assist with recruitment, induction, and training of new staff. You’ll help identify staff training needs, conduct appraisals, address performance concerns, and undertake management investigations if needed. Additionally, you'll assist the Registered Manager in delegating responsibilities, support implementation of the Statement of Purpose, run internal workshops on childcare practices, and help create a friendly, empowering, and person-centred environment. Further responsibilities include driving company vehicles (in line with policy), working on a rota basis according to young people's needs, managing resources efficiently, and maintaining accurate financial records. You'll also receive supervision in line with National Minimum Standards and take charge of your own development. The role requires stepping in during the absence of the Registered or Deputy Manager to ensure continuity of care and management. Finally, you'll be expected to manage staffing levels, monitor and control budgets and finances, ensure company vehicles are clean and maintained, and oversee the building's condition, including its fixtures and grounds, taking necessary action when required
