We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our newly established team dedicated to addressing damp, mould, and disrepair issues. A varied role providing support to Damp and Disrepair Co‑ordinators by managing correspondence, dealing with enquiries, including incoming telephone enquiries, so an excellent telephone manner is essential. You would also be managing electronic data relating to property condition, legal cases, and reports of damp and mould within properties.
Job Description
As part of the newly established team, the Business Support Officer will provide business support services to technical and compliance teams, manage correspondence, and maintain electronic data for the department.
Responsibilities
* Work in partnership to deliver business support across all property (housing) teams supporting colleagues to achieve positive outcomes beyond traditional service boundaries where required and directed by encouraging the sharing of knowledge, experience and resources across teams in the council
* Contribute and support the development and delivery of the Council’s strategies and policies as required
* Provide a comprehensive and holistic business support service to the property (housing) service including carrying out a range of administrative and data/customer management tasks
* Understand the business requirements and information reporting needs of internal customers and develop good working relationships with them
* Understand and navigate the data systems of the organisation
* Attend internal and external meetings and produce an accurate record of those meetings and the agreed action plans arising
* Work collaboratively and support other colleagues (as required) to deliver Team Plans, Corporate Plan, emergency and recovery plans
Skills Required
* Experience of dealing with large, complex datasets
* Experience of using report‑writing software to extract data from relational databases
* Experience of providing a responsive data analysis role
* Ideally, experience of one of the following systems (or equivalent): Civica, NEC and other council utilised systems
* Demonstrable and relevant experience in a similar role gained over a period of time
* Thorough understanding of the operations of a Property Services department, in a local authority environment, registered provider or private sector environment
Educational Requirements
* Educated to a minimum GCSE level ideally in a numeracy based subject (e.g. Maths, Statistics etc.) or with equivalent experience
* Educated to A level or equivalent or equivalent training and experience in a similar environment
* Evidence of continuing personal development
