Lead Software Development Engineer – Architect – Global Payment Network

Role overview: At Capital One, you will be a senior lead software engineer leading a portfolio of technology projects, mentoring developers, and driving the transformation of Capital One’s global payment network.
What You’ll Do
* Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers, focusing on distributed microservices and full stack systems to meet regulatory needs.
* Stay on top of technology trends, experiment, and evaluate new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities.
* Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust solutions, writing code as needed, using JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, SQL, Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools.
What We’re Looking For
* Deep understanding of software engineering with experience in Java (JSE, JEE) and Linux-based systems.
* Demonstrable experience in technical architecture and microservice / event-driven architecture.
* Experience with containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.
* Proven experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
* Experience with open-source frameworks.
Where and how you’ll work
This permanent position is based in our Farnborough office with a hybrid working model. You’ll be based in the Farnborough office two days a week.
