About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Digital Delivery to lead our digital portfolio governance, product‑aligned delivery approach and lifecycle stewardship of business systems. This senior leadership role will work closely with the CIO to ensure that digital initiatives are prioritised, viable and aligned to organisational needs.
The role provides authoritative delivery oversight, enabling Mencap to make informed decisions, manage capacity effectively and maintain high standards of technical integrity, accessibility and security.This is a full‑time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position. The role is home‑based, with occasional ad‑hoc travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership for Mencap’s digital delivery approach and product‑aligned squads.
* Chair the IT Portfolio Steering Group and oversee structured digital demand management.
* Maintain portfolio sequencing, delivery viability assessments and capacity modelling.
* Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data and security standards.
* Strengthen business systems strategy, including SaaS lifecycle management and rationalisation.
* Surface delivery risks, dependencies and trade‑offs at an executive level.
Key Skills and Experience
* Significant senior leadership experience in digital, data or technology functions.
* Strong technical judgement and experience governing complex digital portfolios.
* Excellent communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to lead leaders and drive organisational change.
* Commitment to inclusion, accessibility and continuous improvement.
