We have a fantastic opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to provide input to services with a strong focus on inter-disciplinary working.About the locationsGledholt is nine-bed enhanced community residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with learning disability accompanied with behaviour that may challenge including mental illness, co-morbid substance misuse or a forensic background.Cygnet Adarna House is a nine-bed rehabilitation service for men with mental illness and a secondary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Adarna House provides a homely and community facing environment for individuals who are preparing for community life, but need further support to move to more independent living.This role is split across both locations, with 3 days at Gledholt and 2 days at Adarna House, with occasional referral-based input to Gledholt’s neighbouring service Gledholt Mews and Coach House.What does the job involve?As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to deliver an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of the complex client group within community rehabilitation and residential settings. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will use your skills and knowledge to assess, advise and intervene with the aim of promoting functional communication systems and optimal independence. You will be able to train others, promote good practice and maintain a successful inclusive communication environment. You will be accountable to the Director of Speech and Language Therapy and the onsite service managers.
