Farm Manager Required - Barr Farm
The shift pattern is 5 days from a 7‑day week with a 6th day as required, covering 48 hours a week.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Manager to join our Broiler team. The successful candidate will provide overall responsibility for the Broiler Farm, including all aspects of husbandry, ensuring stock produced is of the highest standard and meets required specifications for weight, quality, health & safety, welfare, etc. The role encompasses commercial and financial aspects of the farm and involves working to financial and physical budgets, and where appropriate, managing and developing a team.
Maintaining the professional integrity and appearance of the farm and dwellings at all times is required. With animal welfare at the forefront, you will ensure health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to and that farm staff can carry out their daily duties. You will manage and monitor environmental systems, feed, water and ventilation within agreed guidelines.
You should be organised and IT literate, maintain accurate records of all matters relating to the birds, food and suppliers, and ensure adequate supply is maintained and controlled. Management of alarms may require call outs.
With previous experience in a similar role, you should be a sound decision maker, able to work autonomously, and possess supervisory and people management skills to coordinate work to ensure continuous operation. You must hold or have completed the Level 3 Poultry Passport qualification and hold a full driving licence.
The successful candidate will ‘live’ welfare as a condition in all their actions. We support and encourage employees to develop their skills through our bespoke Agriculture Academy, fostering future agriculture specialists and leaders.
