The Opportunity
As our Health Teacher, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to inspire and support our students on their journey into healthcare careers or further study. Through engaging, high-quality lessons, you’ll bring health-related subjects to life, helping our learners develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Your teaching will be inclusive, dynamic, and aligned with curriculum and industry standards. You’ll assess and mentor our students, providing constructive feedback that empowers them to reach their full potential. By developing and adapting teaching materials, you’ll ensure your lessons reflect the latest health practices, keeping our students informed and ready for the future.
Beyond the classroom, you’ll play a key role in pastoral care and career guidance, helping our students take the next step toward employment or further education. You’ll also track progress, maintain records, and ensure compliance with our college policies—all while creating a supportive and motivating learning environment.
Collaboration will also be at the heart of your role as you work with your colleagues and industry partners to enhance learning experiences. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities for professional development, keeping your skills fresh and aligned with best practices in health education.
You may also be involved in student recruitment, enrolment activities, and various school events, helping our learners take their first steps into education and celebrating their achievements along the way. By engaging with parents and attending student reviews, you’ll also build a strong support network that drives success.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who is passionate about health education and our students’ success. You’ll have the ability to engage and inspire our learners, making complex health topics accessible and exciting while creating a supportive and motivating learning environment where every student can thrive.
As a passionate educator, you’ll bring health-related subjects to life with dynamic and inclusive teaching methods, ensuring our students feel inspired and empowered. You’ll be committed to their academic and personal growth, offering guidance, encouragement, and tailored support to help them reach their full potential. Whether delivering engaging lessons, providing constructive feedback, or mentoring students, you’ll play a key role in shaping their future.
You’ll have a strong understanding of health-related subjects and stay up to date with industry standards and best practices. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to connect effectively with our students, colleagues, and parents, fostering positive relationships that enhance the learning experience. Adaptability and creativity will also be key, enabling you to tailor your lessons to different learning styles, incorporate real-world applications, and ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging.
Being highly organised and proactive, you’ll manage lesson planning, assessments, and student progress tracking with precision and efficiency. You’ll also contribute to wider departmental activities, supporting student recruitment, enrichment programs, and cross-college initiatives. As a true team player, you’ll collaborate with your colleagues, industry partners, and support staff to create a vibrant and inspiring learning environment that equips our students with the skills and confidence to succeed in their future careers.
Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
Required
• A recognised teaching qualification (or a commitment to achieving a Level 6 PGCE if not already held).
• GCSEs in Maths and English (or an equivalent Level 2 qualification).
• A relevant Level 3 qualification in your subject area.
• At least one year of experience working in an educational setting.
• Proven experience in delivering engaging learning sessions to diverse groups of learners.
• Ability to develop high-quality learning materials to support effective teaching.
