£5,460 - £27,300 a year
Posted: 1 October
Offer description

Grace Kids is the children's ministry of Grace Church Family, and we're currently seeking someone to lead and coordinate this vital area of church life.

Background

Grace Church Family is a small but vibrant church plant based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire. We have several part-time staff, primarily serving through our Deeside Compassion ministries.

Currently we have an active congregation of around 30 people, including around 10 children, and we run various church ministries, including our Sunday gatherings, mid-week small groups, outreach programmes, and other events.

Through Deeside Compassion we also run various wrap around services to support those in the local area who are struggling. Those services include Restart Social Supermarket, CAP Debt Centre, CAP Life Skills, and Kintsugi Hope mental health & wellbeing groups.

The Role

We're looking to appoint a part-time Kid's Pastor to lead Grace Kids. While we have a committed team of volunteers, this role will provide consistent leadership and coordination.

The successful candidate will lead Grace Kids most Sundays, and join the main service on weeks when they're not leading the children's programme.

Key responsibilities include:

* planning and preparing for Grace Kids
* leading sessions on Sunday mornings (most weeks)
* training, managing, and coordinating volunteers
* responding to enquiries from parents

The Kid's Pastor will report to the Lead Pastor and will participate in staff meetings, training, and other relevant settings.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who:

* has a personal faith in Jesus and is willing to accept the charity's statement of faith
* is passionate about children's ministry
* desires to be an active part of the church family
* has suitable experience working with children
* possesses strong organisational and logistical skills
* is confident using basic IT tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, YouTube, online content)
* will pass a PVG check

Other Expectations

As a church we expect that our employees will support our vision, work towards our priorities, and reflect the culture we are seeking to promote.

Our vision is to be a growing church family, which is passionately committed to pursuing God's presence, and to carrying His Kingdom into our community and beyond.

In order to fulfil our vision we currently have 3 main priorities as a church. Those are worship, compassion, and outreach.

The culture we want to see reflected in our staff and leaders is one where we:

* honour God and others
* demonstrate servant leadership
* follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of those in leadership
* give of our heart, time, energy, and resources to the work of the kingdom

Job Details

The role is offered on a part time basis for 7 hours per week, out of our normal 35 hour working week.

The starting salary will be £5,460 p.a. (pro rata from £27,300 FTE) with 8 weeks paid holiday per year.

A 3% pension contribution by the charity will also be available, where the employee contributes 5% of gross salary.

The working pattern will involve 3 hours work on Sunday mornings, 1 hour each week for staff meetings (time to be agreed), and a further 3 hours of preparation and administration time during the week
