Management Accountant
Job Introduction
Full‑time, 0800‑1630 Mon – Fri, 36 hrs per week. Enjoy longer weekends with friends & family. We work a 9‑day fortnight (every second Friday off).

What the role looks like day‑to‑day
You will be at the centre of our financial rhythm, ensuring monthly reporting runs smoothly across P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and working capital. You will produce and reconcile trial balances, prepare financial data for Group reporting and keep everything aligned with our finance manual and control framework.
You will spend time working with stakeholders and budget holders, helping them understand figures and identify performance improvements. You will develop tools and commentary that make insight clearer, and lead on annual budgets, forecasts, costing, transfer pricing and business cases.
In addition, you will strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting processes and support the wider DPM&S agenda, bringing Dechra values to life in your work.
What you’ll bring
You analyse complex information and explain it clearly, insightful and useful. You understand what drives operational and financial performance, plan workloads, meet deadlines, and work proactively when busy. Collaboration is natural, you build relationships, challenge constructively and thrive in a team.
Experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments is preferred. You are comfortable using Oracle, QuickBooks, Hyperion and advanced Excel. You are degree‑educated, a qualified accountant with at least 1–2 years post‑qualification experience.
Essential skills & experience
* Strong analytical ability with clear, insightful communication
* Understanding of operational and financial performance drivers
* Effective planning, prioritisation and time‑management
* A collaborative approach and strong relationship‑building skills
* Proactive, resilient and comfortable working autonomously
* 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical environment
* Experience using tools such as Oracle, QuickBooks or Hyperion
* Advanced Excel skills
* Degree‑level education (or equivalent)
* Qualified accountant with 1–2 years' post‑qualification experience
Desirable
* Experience developing financial reporting tools or dashboards
* Exposure to standard costing in a manufacturing environment
* Familiarity with capital expenditure business case development
