Community Support Worker - Castlepoint
Our devoted and robust adult services team are looking for a male driver to support a wonderful gentlemen living in the Castlepoint area. For this vacancy we are looking for someone with longevity in the health and social care industry only specifically complex care.
Hourly rate: £11.10 - £11.50
For all 'hands on' shift time with Harry, an additional 90p allowance is paid per hour.
The role:
Harry has 2:1 support seven days a week, he is non-verbal and communicates through Pecs, body language, gestures and picture images.
Luckily Harry has his own mobility car so it is imperative the team member that joins us can drive. For Harry to feel at his best he loves touching his sensory toys such as sound books, cuddly toys with noise anything he can tap. Routine is also really important and so Harry has two baths a day.
When at home, Harry loves watching things with lots of colour and his latest favourites are Thomas the Tank and CBeebies. His latest favourite music artist is Elton John so be prepared to listen to his greatest hits!
This role would really suit a patient, relaxed and dedicated person working round the clock to support Harry.
A support workers day would include:
1. Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
2. Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
3. Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
4. Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
Drivers with access to their own car for work is essential. We are unable to accommodate anyone who does not drive.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part time hours available to suit your needs. To support Jake’s package the hours would ideally be within 8am - 4pm or 4pm - 10pm with one sleep in a week between Monday – Sunday.
