The Role Position: Year 1 Class Teacher Location: Nottingham Start Date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered TLR: Available for Subject or Phase Leadership (for the right candidate) As our Year 1 Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging, phonics-rich lessons that develop early reading and writing skills. Prepare pupils for the Phonics Screening Check where applicable. Plan learning that secures strong foundations in number, vocabulary and confidence. Use formative assessment to adapt teaching and promote progress for all pupils. Create a nurturing classroom culture where pupils feel safe, valued and challenge-seeking. Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support every child’s development. (If applicable) Lead a subject or phase area as part of a TLR opportunity. What We’re Looking For We welcome applicants who: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1. Have a secure knowledge of phonics, early reading, early maths and behaviour management. Are reflective, organised and excellent communicators. Demonstrate creativity, energy and a commitment to inclusion. Thrive in a collaborative school environment and are open to leadership responsibilities.
