We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist who has chemistry know-how, global chemicals management regulatory knowledge, project management and leadership, in support of worldwide chemicals notification projects (including the European Union & United Kingdom), supporting the development of the Assuris Manchester office as a centre of excellence for chemicals notification services. Key Requirements: First Degree (min 2.2 Hons) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field. Higher Degree (MSc /PhD), in a relevant field an advantage Minimum five years relevant experience in industry or consultancy, including project management of complex regulatory projects or equivalent Working knowledge of new chemical notification regimes & chemical hazard management/communication gained from hands-on experience, including dossier preparation and project management Experienced Project Manager supporting multiple concurrent projects and Clients, showing comprehensive data management and organisational skills Sound knowledge of organic chemistry, chemical structures, and naming conventions Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (verbal, written, listening and presentation) skills in a fast-paced, dynamic and Client-facing environment Experienced user of Government / Competent Authority online notification software Mathematics for scientific applications Good IT literacy skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, data management, etc About the Opportunity The role entails, managing business development leads, determination of notification strategies, project cost planning, preparation of contracts, negotiation with Clients, data analysis, development of read-across arguments, scoping of physicochemical, toxicological, and eco-toxicological tests/studies, chemical safety report/notification dossier preparation, classification, and general regulatory compliance consulting for Clients. Additionally, the role holder may supervise the activities of other team members as delegated. The role will involve: Working with minimum supervision, apply in a safe, legal, and ethical manner, technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to support global chemicals management compliance projects, includingInformation & data management for Only Representative Client portfolios, overseeing EU REACH and UK REACH OR services, data gap analysis, scoping and facilitating analytics data generation and physicochemical, toxicological and eco-toxicological tests/studies, preparation & submission of notification/registration dossiers, and chemical safety reports / chemical safety assessments Contribute to the Manchester offices role as an Assuris centre of excellence for global chemicals notification services. Follow up on new leads and requests from existing Clients to secure invitations to quote. Prepare notification strategies, and cost plans, develop written proposals and follow through to contract. PromoteAssuris worldwide notification services through participation in webinars, seminars, conferences, and Client face-to-face meetings. Manage workload with minimal supervision to agreed delivery targets (do the right thing, with precision, pace and passion). Monitor and maintain expert knowledge of applicable chemicals management regulations for those jurisdictions whereAssuris is active. Contribute to the overall performance of HERS through the embodiment of team values. Support local and global colleagues concerning knowledge sharing and skills development. Contribute to coaching of junior team members. Develop and maintain professional contact with Clients. Organise project telephone conferences/MS Teams meetings as required. Participate in Client face-to-face meetings to develop Client relationships and progress projects.
