I am delighted to be partnering with a community led Letchworth Garden City based charity in their search for an experienced Procurement Business Partner.
Part Time - can be flexible around your requirements
Excellent benefits and hybrid working
Collaborative environment
My client is a unique organisation with a clear purpose: to care for and invest in Letchworth Garden City for the long term. As a charitable foundation, everything it does is about balancing commercial activity with community benefit, protecting the town's heritage while supporting its future. It's a values-led, forward-thinking place to work, with a real sense of pride in making a difference locally.
I am looking for a Procurement Business Partner who understands that procurement in a charitable environment is about far more than process. It's about enabling teams, protecting public value, and making sure money is spent responsibly, fairly and well.
The role
Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, you'll work closely with budget holders across the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor rather than a gatekeeper. As a large proportion of spend relates to buildings, estates and maintenance works, experience in asset-heavy or property-led environments would be particularly relevant.
You'll help embed clear, proportionate procurement practices that support delivery on the ground, while standing up to audit and scrutiny.
What you'll be doing
Partnering with managers and project leads to support transparent, well-documented purchasing decisions
Shaping procurement approaches early in projects to achieve best value and manage risk
Building and embedding a contracts register that improves visibility, compliance and forward planning
Developing practical purchasing procedures that work in real-world, operational settings
Supporting teams through guidance and training, building confidence rather than adding bureaucracy
Providing clear, meaningful assurance reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee
Championing responsible procurement, including social value, sustainability and local supply chains
What we're looking for
Procurement or commercial experience ideally within housing, charity, local authority or similar regulated environments
Strong contract management and governance awareness
Confidence supporting non-procurement colleagues and influencing without authority
A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with high professional integrity
Ability to balance compliance requirements with operational realities
CIPS qualification is desirable, not essential
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to make a visible difference in a purpose-led organisation. You'll have the space to build relationships, improve ways of working and help teams deliver outcomes that genuinely benefit the community — while ensuring strong governance and value for money.
