Role Description
This is a key role within the firm, ideal for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, working independently, and improving how things are done.
You will manage your own portfolio of payroll clients from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
* Manage a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring all payrolls are processed accurately and on time
* Complete end-to-end payroll processing including RTI submissions and statutory payments
* Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including auto enrolment and payroll legislation
* Handle payroll queries from clients in a professional and timely manner
Client Management
* Act as the main point of contact for your payroll clients
* Build strong client relationships and deliver a high level of service
* Resolve queries independently, escalating where necessary
Systems & Process Improvement
* Take ownership of payroll systems and processes
* Maximise the use of software such as BrightPay to improve efficiency
* Identify and implement improvements to reduce manual work and streamline workflows
* Support the migration from Moneysoft to BrightPay
Onboarding & Team Support
* Lead onboarding of new payroll clients, including data migration and setup.
* Support the internal team as required around existing workload.
General
* Provide regular updates to the Director on workload and deadlines.
* Work within internal systems and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
* Assist with basic administrative tasks where required (e.g. company secretarial support)
* Strong experience in a payroll environment
* Experience managing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients
* Solid knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
* Ability to manage your own workload and meet strict deadlines
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
* Experience using BrightPay (or similar payroll software)
* Experience with Moneysoft
* Payroll or accountancy qualification
* Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
* 25 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata)
