About the role:
We have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Northeast Water Productions Area team as an Electrical Technician at Coppermill and Chingford Water Treatments Works.
As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our Water treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical and some mechanical equipment.
You will also be working in a multi-discipline team and will be responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance work on Electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns.
What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician
* Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner to avoid interruptions to the process.
* This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
* You will be expected to provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Examples of equipment that you will be working on include motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
Base Location: Coppermills and Chingford WTW - East London - E17 7HE
Working Pattern: 38 Hours Monday- Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby & overtime opportunity increasing earning by potential £8,000-£10,000.
All PPE, tools, van and fuel card are provided.
What you should bring to the role
* NVQ or C&G level 3 in Electrical Engineering is essential.
* 18th Edition qualification is desirable, but training can be provided.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety policies are required.
* Significant experience in electrical systems, ideally in an industrial or water industry environment.
* A valid driving license is required, as frequent travel within the Northeast Water Productions Area is expected.
