Introduction
We are looking for a Buyer to join our Purchasing Team based in Abercynon, South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of a portfolio of suppliers from whom we by goods and services that are critical to our operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for maintaining assigned supplier relations by selecting suppliers and negotiating prices for material and/ or services required, ensuring procurement of nominated materials and services to agreed programmes by the most economic, timely and efficent means.
2. Analyse, negotiate and report supplier price changes.
3. Conduct periodic commodity surveys to obtain price comparisons; evaluate market trends to develop new services and create cost savings.
4. Select new and alternative sources of supply and in collaboration with technical staff select new and alternative materials and services providing technical and or commerical advantage to the company.
5. Ensure all purchasing requisitions and programmes are correct and reflect the current suppliers lead- times, keep management and user departments informed where changes threaten work programmes.
6. Identify potential problem areas and recommend changes.
7. Minimise the companys exposure with regard to MOQ's and price increases, obtaining the relevant authority levels.
8. Proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet and to supply demand to relevant quality.
9. Administration and reporting as required.
10. Payment terms and negotiation, optimisation and management.
11. To identify & drive continuous improvements within the areas of control.
12. Control and minimise excess and cost/stock.
13. International trading issues/ imports/legal awareness.
14. Ensure compliance with company codes of conduct and Health & Safety.

15. 3+ years experience of working within a Purchasing department in a manufacturing environment.
16. Ability to think strategically with an innovative approach to problem solving.
17. Excellent negotiating skills with proven track record of cost reduction through use of appropriate strategic purchasing tools.
18. Famililar with ERP, MRP systems and other purchasing systems.
19. Supplier relationship management.
20. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
21. Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Our Recruitment Process
Initally we will reach out to your for an informal conversation about the role. This will allow you the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about TT, our site and our team. It will also give us the chance to learn more about you and your experience to date. At this point both parties have the opportunity to decide if they would like to continue with the process.
Formal interviews will be held onsite and include a tour of the facility.
Due to the specific projects TT Electronics support, we are unable to sponsor work visa for this role. Cadidates will be required to achieve Baseline Personal Security Standard Clearance and hold UK or US citizenship.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre and during employment drug and alcohol testing.
