We have an opportunity for a SCPHN (Health Visitor) to Join our HCP Band 7 team leads to continue to develop the HCP in West Sussex

The post will be based in Chichester and is part time.

There is one Healthy Child Programme Hub in Chichester, which is part of the wider West Sussex HCP service.

You will be working alongside an experienced team lead within the same hub.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a Health Visitor Team Lead to manage a 0-5 Healthy Child Programme Hub in Chichester.

We have an exciting opportunity for dynamic SCPHN - Health Visitor who wishes to maintain clinical expertise whilst developing management and supervision skills and leading a 0-5 HCP hub in line with the Healthy Child Programme, including local and national priorities.

The 0-5 Healthy Child Programme team includes Health Visitors, Staff Nurses, Community Nursery Nurses and administrative staff.

The Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Healthy Child Programme has Gold UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation and our Health Visitors are trained in the use of the scheme's promotional guides.

You will receive a full induction and have a peer mentor. You will be supported by the Deputy Nursing and Deputy Operational Heads of Service, the existing Hub team lead and the wider team lead colleagues from the HCP hubs across the county. There are weekly Team Lead meetings and integrated meetings with colleagues from the local authority.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will work alongside another team lead to manage the Chichester Hub. You will work closely with all the team leads to develop ideas, be part of working parties and regular meetings.

You will have regular Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision with the Deputy Head of Nursing, and receive line management from the Deputy Operational head of Service. There is regular team lead peer supervision groups and a robust induction and support.

Person specification


Qualification

* Registered Nurse or midwife
* Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (HV)
* Educated to degree level
* Evidence of range of clinical competencies approrpiate to role
* Evidence of training and professional development in safegaurding practice at masters level or equivalent
* Management / leadership qualification or equivalent experience


Experience

* Experience working ina team environment and holding and managing a clinical caseload
* Experience of safeguarding children casework and identifying and managing risk
* Experience of supervising others
* Willingness to develop leadership and managerial skills
* Minimum of 2 years post SCPHN qualification


Skills and Knowledge

* Knowledge of safeguarding children polices & procedures
* Knowldge of local and national polices informing health & social care
* Demonstrates leadership in practice
* Demonstrates evidence based practice
* Knowldge of clinical governance, audit, supervsion and professional codes of conduct
* Values and beliefs of HCP
* Concepts of integrated working
* Able to have difficult or challenging conversations
* Work flexibly across specified area
* Lifelong learning and development
* Understanding of self and limitations
* Awareness of professional responsibiliies and boundaries
* Previous managerial/leadership role
