About The Role
We have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer or Senior to join our Property Services team in Manchester. Buildings continuously evolve due to climate, use, and maintenance, requiring Property Services consultants who can monitor, optimize, and add value throughout a building’s lifecycle.
Our experience spans Residential, Commercial, and Healthcare sectors. You will join a collaborative, knowledgeable, and engaged team passionate about their work.
In this role, you will:
* Collaborate with teams to deliver various projects.
* Handle design, specification, and site monitoring tasks.
* Oversee commissioning and conduct post-occupancy activities.
* Write technical reports such as feasibility studies, issue investigations, and condition surveys.
* Engage with clients, including commercial and project management stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
You will work on diverse projects mainly in the UK, with some overseas opportunities. You will lead small projects up to a few million pounds and provide technical support to end users, landlords, management agents, and project managers.
The core services in Property Services include:
* Technical Due Diligence: condition surveys, pre-acquisition, dilapidation, and alteration reports.
* Plant Replacement: projects up to £3m, including boiler/chiller replacements, feasibility, design, site duties, and contract management.
* Design: challenging existing buildings across RIBA stages, focusing on innovative and sustainable solutions.
* Maintenance/Operational: inspections, preventative maintenance, asset management, troubleshooting, energy optimization, and EPCs.
* Sustainability & Energy Efficiency: projects to reduce energy use and improve building ratings across various sectors.
About You
To succeed, you should have:
* Chartered or working towards chartered status as a design engineer.
* Experience with refurbishment and fit-out projects in existing buildings.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
* Experience with performance specifications, contract administration, and site duties.
* Broad knowledge of Building Services engineering.
* Strong technical expertise in primary engineering and good secondary discipline understanding.
* Familiarity with UK and EU regulations and design guides.
* Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines.
