Drawing Office Manager SP Energy Networks, Fullerton Drive, Glasgow East Investment Park, Cambuslang. G32 8FA Salary from £69,200 with up to 20% Annual Bonus, Family Healthcare and Car Allowance Permanent Closing Date: 3rd October 2025 Purpose With plans to see SP Energy Networks look to invest over £10bn in Transmission projects across our Transmission network in Central and Southern Scotland by 2030, the Transmission team will play a number of key roles in supporting work at pace to deliver the Transmission network that is required to support ambitions Scottish and UK Government 2030 targets. As Drawing Office Manager, you will manage a multi-disciplined drawing office, providing solutions to support SP Energy Networks engineering for Transmission Network Projects (132kv and above),Transmission, Distribution, Operational Safety and Distribution Projects (LV to 33kV). The drawing office will provide the necessary conceptual and detailed engineering models / drawings required to safely and accurately deliver work. Providing advice, motivation and offering innovation and effective technical support to other members of the project team, you will assist in engineering solutions / designs throughout the Transmission Network project lifecycle. Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring all team members perform duties with a strong emphasis on Health, Safety, Quality and Environment compliance and continuous improvement, you will communicate and encourage use of drawing standards and procedures to ensure all team members work to and maintain externally audited QA systems. Accountable for team member’s contribution to the maintenance and upkeep of drawing office databases, you will ensure all team members maintain an auditable design/design change system to facilitate the accreditation of BS EN 9001 whilst taking responsibility for all communication and encouragement of the use of drawing standards and procedures. You will ensure the drawing office aligns with and maintains externally audited QA systems, whilst also contributing to training needs assessments for new or similar products. Additionally, you will support the development and delivery of technical, operational and safety documentation for these products. Liaising across multi-disciplinary engineering teams to provide end to end integrated solutions, you will co-ordinate and manage all IT requirements for the drawing office and the wider engineering team, inputting into Engineering Key Performance Indicators to ensure the drawing office team is working efficiently and effectively. Proactively engaging with the business implementation of BIM, you will also ensure drawing office staff are suitably trained and have full understanding of new technologies. Establishing and maintaining new sources of talent for the drawing office, you will also support the development of BIM Tools within Engineering department, administration of Autodesk licences for Engineering and management of hardware for the Engineering team. What you’ll bring To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate (as minimum) your Engineering degree or equivalent experience, your proven working knowledge in the use of Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Tools (such as Revit, BIM360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Vault, Project wise and MS Office suite) and working knowledge of Engineering design / Health & Safety requirements and compliance in your chosen field (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Structural model / Drawing production). With knowledge of BIM, you will be able to write clear and concise reports and documents covering technical subjects, possess people management experience and hold a full UK driving licence.
