Project Accountant

Overview
Viqu Energy are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support a Finance team on a 6-month contract following a recent system migration. This role is critical in ensuring reconciliation processes are automated, efficient, and fully documented for business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Finance team to automate the reconciliation of Sales Ledger upload files into the new billing system.
* Automate the cash reconciliation process for seamless integration into BAU.
* Produce clear, detailed documentation of all processes, ensuring they are robust and future-proof.
* Develop and automate aged debtors' ledger reporting at invoice level.
* Analyse large data sets to identify discrepancies and improve reconciliation accuracy.
* Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in finance reconciliations, particularly with large data sets.
* Advanced Excel skills, including strong working knowledge of Power Query.
* Demonstrated ability to automate and streamline monthly finance processes.
* Self-starter with the confidence to take ownership and work independently.
* Excellent organisational and documentation skills, with the ability to present data clearly.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
* Ability to communicate financial issues effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Experience in the Energy sector is desirable.
