YMCA Trinity Group – Accommodation ‘Inspiring communities, transforming young lives’ Type of vacancy Relief –Accommodation Relief Worker Job Reference – ARW-BSE-0126 Location 56 Westgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 1QG Flexible hours, in a rewarding role where you can help to make a positive difference to a young person’s life. At Batt House, we provide safe, affordable housing for young people aged 16–25. Our two accommodation options include Supported Housing (16–21 years) and YMCA Flats (18–25 years). Each offers tailored support and access to local facilities, helping young people build independence in a setting that suits their needs. About the role Relief Accommodation Project Workers play a key role in supporting young residents as they build essential life skills for independent living. You’ll engage with them day-to-day, helping to create a warm, clean, and homely environment while encouraging positive behaviour and personal growth. Your support will be vital in helping them prepare for a successful resettlement. What We’re Looking For Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to provide warm, face-to-face support. Solid understanding of confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries. Committed to working in a respectful, inclusive, and non-judgemental way. Confident and positive when engaging with young people, building trust and rapport. Able to stay calm, focused, and effective under pressure. Comfortable using computers and digital tools in everyday tasks. A positive team player with a can-do attitude and a willingness to support others. In accordance with safer recruitment processes many of the roles we recruit for require successful candidates to undertake an appropriate criminal record background check. If an offer of work is accepted, YMCA Trinity Group will facilitate these checks on behalf of our staff and volunteers via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Days and hours Shifts will be offered on an as-and-when basis. You must be available to provide cover at short notice, as well as for planned holiday cover. Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and occasional night shifts (22:00–08:00) What we offer Salary £12.21 per hour Additional benefits we offer include.(Check benefits are applicable to your location) Competitive rates of pay and company pension (NEST Scheme).
