Qualifications and Requirements:
* Full GMC Registration, a license to practice, and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
* UK-trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
* Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) doctors are only eligible after receiving the substantive consultant post.
* Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) post based at Western General Hospital. The successful candidate will provide high-quality urology services, including performing robotically assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) independently, with initial mentorship available for new consultants.
The post involves contributing to Scotland-wide PROMs collection, participating in research projects such as multi-centre RCTs, and developing services like focal therapy and minimally invasive cystectomy, depending on interest.
Urology services are part of the Lothian and Borders network, serving a population of 1.2 million across multiple sites, primarily based at Western General Hospital but also working across other network sites.
