Ergonomist – Airbus UK, Broughton
Location: Broughton, onsite
Hours: 35 per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (completed by Airbus Security)
About The Role
Join Airbus UK's dynamic Manufacturing Engineering team in Broughton as an Ergonomist, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of wing manufacturing. You'll be part of a small, influential team dedicated to optimising working conditions and system performance, collaborating closely with operations, design engineering, and health & safety colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and improve human working conditions and manufacturing processes, driving efficiency and minimising risks.
* Influence product development in line with 'design for manufacture' principles.
* Develop and implement strategic ergonomic risk reduction plans.
* Identify workplace ergonomic risk factors and propose effective solutions.
* Apply theory, principles, and data to optimise both human health and production system efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with national laws, regulations, and standards related to Human Factors and Ergonomics.
* Support cross-functional improvement projects with stakeholders across Quality, Health & Safety, Design, and Manufacturing Engineering.
* Integrate user-centred design processes and conduct systematic analyses.
* Perform ergonomic work analysis of assembly and installation activities.
* Provide recommendations and action plans to address ergonomic risks.
* Contribute to specifications, tenders, and subcontractor management for ergonomics-related projects.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure ergonomic considerations are embedded in tooling and machinery.
* Monitor international regulatory and scientific developments, ensuring best practice deployment.
* Maintain and update the Ergonomics Tactical Implementation Plan for the site.
* Communicate effectively with local Health & Safety representatives and support ergonomic initiatives across transnational locations.
What We're Looking For
* Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics/Human Factors from an accredited CIEHF institution.
* Working towards or holding Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of physiology, cognitive sciences, biomechanics, and applied psychology.
* Experience in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risks in industrial or manufacturing environments.
* Skilled in technical report writing, risk assessment, and development of practical solutions.
* Effective communicator, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
* Innovative, analytical, and self-motivated, able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
* Project management experience and the ability to influence stakeholders in an engineering environment.
