Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to keep the accounts for my client up to date as well as monitoring profit-making and loss-making trends.
Key responsibilities
The scope of the role covers all invoices and accounting aspects, including but not limited to.
• Inputting invoices into the company accounts package
• Dealing with Payroll
• Working with managers to ensure correct holiday and absences are reported
• Monitoring of the P&L and Balance Sheet
• Producing quarterly VAT returns
• Dealing with the customers and suppliers queries via telephone and email
• Managing annual subscriptions and renewals, keeping in mind my clients needs and changes
• Aiding the Managing Director and Finance Director with contracts and other tasks which they need completing
• Manage the company’s budget, keeping it up to date and relevant
Key Accountabilities
• Supporting my clients development through a broad range of business changes by supplying data needed
• Provide objective advice to department heads so informed decisions are made against business strategies
• Identify business areas of opportunity and provide a creative solution focused approach to proposing new ideas
• Identify areas of risk and provide a solution focused approach to minimising cost
• Foster a culture of commercial awareness built on a firm understanding of my clients objectives
Functional Accountabilities
• Ensuring that the correct information is published for the Board to read
• Keep the Board apprised of issues or potential risks to the company
• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by your line manager
• Accountancy Level 3 or above
• Experience of the Xero accounting package
• Excellent and demonstrable Excel skills including complex linked spreadsheets
• Excellent communication skills with senior executives and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of Apprenticeship funding
• Knowledge of HMRC online portals for Payroll, VAT etc
• Sound understanding of financial risk management
• Salary £20-25,000.00 DOE
