Functional area: Engineering
About the role:
* Support, develop, and continually improve offshore geotechnical and installation data acquisition, interpretation, and reporting.
* Prepare specifications, assess technical tenders, collate and review acquired data, ensuring high‑quality surveys to optimise engineering solutions.
* Participate in construction projects, working with as‑built data for foundations and cable installations, performing inverse analysis and observational engineering.
* Perform quality control of large, diverse geotechnical datasets.
* Manage projects efficiently, ensuring on‑time completion and delivery.
* Utilise and interpret in‑situ and laboratory geotechnical test data effectively.
* Support research and development activities, contributing to the creation of in‑house geotechnical tools and their integration with structural and installation teams.
* Be heavily involved in bid data analysis and implement ML or AI models.
* Be heavily involved in pile‑driving monitoring: data management, analysis, signal matching, and back‑calculation of driving logs.
Job requirements and experience:
* Hold an MSc (or equivalent) in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a significant geotechnical focus, or a related geoscience discipline; possess Chartered status or be working towards it.
* Have offshore geotechnical experience and be experienced in supporting all aspects of an offshore windfarm, including HDDs, cables, and foundation design and installation.
* Communicate findings to management, external stakeholders, and internal packages; develop project geoprisk registers.
* Experience with integration of datasets and familiarity with international standards and ASTM requirements.
* Skilled in advanced geotechnical statistical models such as Bayesian frameworks or other machine‑learning and AI approaches.
* Experience in seismic geotechnical engineering, PSHA, SSRA, and liquefaction assessment.
* Experience in the design and installation of gravity‑based foundations for offshore wind turbines.
* Skilled in scripting and programming, proficient with geotechnical software tools.
* Experience with pile‑monitoring systems and signal matching.
* Demonstrated history of developing innovative approaches in geotechnical engineering topics.
* Have a thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation as it applies to geotechnical work.
Advantageous, but not essential:
* Familiarity with SQL datasets.
* Experience with cloud‑based solutions.
Candidates must already hold the legal right to work in the UK or Denmark.
