Exciting Opportunity: Head of Production at Wernick Refurbished Buildings!

Job Purpose:

* To maximize physical factory production output.

* To manage all aspects of health, safety and environmental issues in the factory and yard.

* To manage the factory production team.

* To measure production output

Reporting Lines

The Production Manager reports to the MD. In the absence of the MD, the Production Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Staff accountable for:

* Production Supervisors x 6

* Production Operatives x 40

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

* To work closely with the office projects team to ensure clear and accurate production information is provided on every cabin and modular project.

* To provide this information to the production team and allocate the work to the relevant team members.

* To monitor on-going works in the factory from a speed and quality perspective.

* To issue a completed “quality control checksheet” to the office project control team for every module / cabin produced in the factory.

* To issue and check “site kit lists” for every project we install – to the office project control team.

* To provide weekly reports to the Managing Director on achieved production output for each week including a breakdown on the allocation of manpower.

* To lead the full factory production team.

* To lead the senior factory supervisory team

* To hold weekly tool box talk meetings and relevant RAMS briefings with the production team – ensuring individual sign off by each team member is received. Depot files updated accordingly.

* To attend weekly production and project review meetings held in the office.

* To ensure accidents and near misses are reported upon accurately, consistently and timely and investigations into each one held.

* To plan individual team members personal development plans in conjunction with The Managing Director.

* To ensure that housekeeping in every area of the yard and factory is tightly managed and that the business presents well at all times.

* To work with the Site Supervisors and Project Control Team in clearing down snags, where the liability sits with WRB, to facilitate soonest building handover.

* To work with the Site Supervisors and Project Control Team in dealing with aftersales issues.

* To assist the Sales Team as necessary where technical building requirements are needed e.g. deeper building facias / building recesses / other special building design features.

* To manage the factory team, in conjunction with the Managing Director, in terms of time keeping, attendance and performance.

* To actively seek better working equipment and better working practices through innovation and consultation, in conjunction with the Managing Director.

Essential:

* Experience managing modular production teams

* Strong understanding of H&S responsibilities

* Commercial awareness

* IT skills

* Experience working closely with all other department heads as part of a senior management team covering Sales / Design and Technical / Projects Delivery / Site

Preferred:

* Knowledge of working with design & estimating teams

* Knowledge of working with project management teams

* Recognised H&S qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH

* Full UK driving license
