Position Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic capable doctor to join our respiratory team at Charing Cross Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, at a specialist registrar level. The role is 0.5 FTE (2.5 days per week + 0.5 FTE on calls). It is suited to a doctor with full Royal College of Physicians membership (MRCP 1, 2, PACES) who is enthusiastic about respiratory medicine and committed to the general medical take. The post arose from a national training gap and will be welcomed into a warm and supportive team. Respiratory experience is desirable but not essential and will be gained during the post. Working days are likely to be Thursdays and Fridays with alternate Mondays and additional on‑call commitments, with some flexibility in pattern.
Responsibilities
* Ward‑based care of 19 patients on 4 South ward, including a 4‑beded ARU.
* Periodically work on the Acute Medicine ward, caring for recently admitted patients.
* Clerk new admissions and provide out‑of‑hours (evening and weekend) ward cover on the 0.5 FTE on‑call rota.
* No obligation to attend respiratory outpatient clinics or procedure lists, but opportunities are available where interest exists.
