Main duties of the job
To manage the day-to-day finance functions to ensure the practice operates profitably and cost-effectively, aligned with partner goals. The post-holder will maintain accurate financial records and collaborate with the Practice Manager to develop and implement finance and administration systems.

Job responsibilities
Job Title: Finance Manager
Reports to: Practice Manager
Hours: 25 hours per week
Summary: To oversee daily finance operations, ensuring profitability, accuracy, and system development in collaboration with the Practice Manager.
Main duties
* Develop annual practice budget with partners and Practice Manager to optimize income and control costs.
* Maintain accurate, current financial records.
* Monitor and report on income and expenditure.
* Develop and maintain finance systems.
* Generate financial reports and identify financial risks.
* Process income and expenses, including purchase and sales ledger, stock management, pensions, petty cash, and partner drawings.
Responsibilities
* Use QuickBooks for monitoring payments, receipts, invoicing, posting, bank reconciliation, cash flow, and performance against budgets.
* Assist with annual accounts, liaising with accountants.
* Implement payroll processes with third-party providers.
* Manage staff administration, HR records, and monitor staff holidays and sickness.
* Ensure funding claims are completed and submitted accurately.

Maintain confidentiality, promote quality, communicate effectively, support equality and diversity, and participate in personal and professional development activities.
Person Specification
Experience and qualifications include:
* GCSEs in English and Maths at A-C or equivalent
* Experience with QuickBooks or similar software
* Payroll experience
* Bookkeeping and financial statement knowledge
* Experience in general practice/primary care (desirable)
Personal qualities include judgment, attention to detail, communication skills, adaptability, and enthusiasm for development.
